Contex Industrial Plant

The commission arises from an open call to build the premises of a construction company, with a diverse program that included a warehouse, a workshop, offices and a cafeteria. The proposal is based on using the diversity of materials, recognizable structures and basic forms as architectural elements that are present in the company’s work.

The plant consists of four independent buildings constructed on aggregate concrete plinths. These are connected by circulation decks raised over a quarry stone surface that act as an open drainage system, absorbing the winter upwelling.

The warehouse is characterized by its steel structure and corrugated aluminum panels, with an office that rises out over the quarry stones. The workshop while the workshop stands out for its exterior slat wall paneling and opens completely to the west keeping equipment towards the edges. The offices were built in exposed concrete with steel shutters, combining private areas with open plan work stations in the interior. The cafeteria appears as a glass pavilion that extends towards a deck covered through the same steel structure.
