This house is located in a residential area in eastern Santiago, characterized by the presence of ancient trees. Spaces in the property are organized in an “H” shaped floor plan adapted to the lot, respecting the existing trees and creating courtyards that reinforce their presence from the inside.
The ground level is organized around a native Peumo, Chilean Acorn tree, that accompanies the access from the south. From the entrance hall, the presence of an enormous Avocado tree is framed and the eastern private wing is delimited by an old Cypress tree. Public spaces in the west wing open onto the garden through a roofed terrace by thr north. The house is preceded by a cobblestone esplanade used to lengthen the visitor’s approach towards the access, where the Peumo tree gains a more prominent presence.
