Located in a northern suburb of Santiago, surrounded by parks, the assignment for this unit was to incorporate the landscape into the house, drawing upon the client’s wish to spend most of the year enjoying its exterior and intermediate spaces. Walls and slabs are extended to control the incidence of the sun and wind on these places of permanence. The interiors are organized around a central 8 x 8 m patio which opens to the garden through the north, creating a continuous view with the adjacent park.
The public areas surround the patio from the southern access to the main terrace on the north.
The east side closes guardedly towards the private area, where a light staircase leads to the master bedroom. A large roofed terrace opens from there dominating the entire landscape.
